How to Setup the ClassiPress Widgets

In this video we’ll show you how to setup the ClassiPress Widgets and build the right side-bar of the Classified Ads site.  The ClassiPress theme comes with some unique and very useful widgets built in.  Some of the widgets that are unique to the ClassiPress theme are as follows…

– CP Top Ads Overall

– CP Top Ads Today

– CP Facebook Like Box

– CP Ads Tag Cloud

– CP 125×125 Ads

– CP Real-Time Twitter Feed

We recommend using the “Top Ads Overall”, “Top Ads Today and the CP Facebook Like Box on every page of the site.  Also recommended is adding an Opt-In form and a Welcome message to each page of the site.  We recommend using Mail Chimp for the Opt-in form.

The ClassiPress theme is also unique in that it comes with six Widget sections built in.  These widget sections all you to make pages of the site unique / different from each other.  They allow for a high level of customization. We recommend taking some time to play around with the widgets so that you can find a combination that fits your site.  If you have any questions, please leave a comment below or feel free to Contact Us.

  1. Hi, I’m fiddling with classipress on WAMP.

Ive creates a new page called “Welcome” and that is in place of the supplied homepage from factory setup.
I don’t like the “blog roll” & “Meta” that comes in the sidebar if a user is not logged in to the site.

    how do I remove this?
Ive tried everything widget wise, but if a user is not logged in, they stay there and i cant get rid of them.

    thanks

    • Hi Andy,

Thanks for your question. The sidebar of the ClassiPress theme is controlled via Widgets in the WordPress admin. If you created a new homepage for the ClassiPress theme then I’m assuming you’ve adjusted the Reading setting so that “Welcome” is the new home page. If so, then the “Page Sidebar” (not the Main Sidebar) widget section would be where you make updates to the sidebar.

If you want to send me the URL to your site it will give me a better idea of the issue. Thanks,

      Adam
